Sharing Some Christmas Cards

With Christmas just around the corner - I thought I'd share some Christmas cards that I made for various Splitcoaststampers challenges over the past month but never posted here on the blog.

I made this card for an Inspiration Challenge where I was inspired by a pillow in Joss & Main on-line Shop
I made these gnome cards for another Inspiration Challenge - where I was inspired by this blue gnome from Christmas Central on line shop.  These 2 are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" sqaures.
I made this reindeer card for a Featured Stamper challenge - CASEing this card by n2scrappin.
I made these fun Pot Belly Penguin shaker card for another Featured Stamper Challenge - CASEing this Halloween shaker by fl_beachbum.
PTI also sells this  Pot Belly Reindeer Die and I made this gift card holder card with it.  The sentiment stamps and dies are Penned Elegance Christmas.   The Gift Card sentiment is from a retired set Gift Card It by Waltzingmouse.
I made these cute shaker gift tags to use on some special gifts, using Papertrey Ink's Fairy Tale Christmas Make It Market Kit

Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Have you heard?  It's time for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
Here's the first of hopefully several cards I'm going to make before the Dec 7th deadline!
I used stamps and stencils from Wendy Vecchi's Mug Art set.  I stamped the mug in black and then stenciled the stripes using Wendy Vecchi Fern Green Blendable Dye Ink, the dots and handle in Wendy Vecchi Poppy ink and the 'coffee or cocoa' in Distress Brushed Corduroy.  I used Pierced Feature Frame Oval die from PTI - raising the outside piece on foam dots.   The papers are Paper Stash/Christmas from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology.  I fussy cut the mug and layered on the inside oval using foam dots.  I stamped the sentiment on a white strip and adhered it to the mug and outside frame.
On the inside of my card I adhered a piece of the same red snowflake patterned paper and then stamped a white panel with a stamp from Gift Card It by Waltzingmouse (retired) adhering it on 3 sides so I could slip in a gift card for the receiver!
You really need to check out all the sponsors of this wonderful Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop  - so many prizes to be won by randomly chosen entries!  Thank you Amy for, once again, organizing all this for us!   You'll find all the details here!

Stamps:  Mug Art - Wendy Vecchi/Stampers Anonymous, Gift Card It - Waltzingmouse (retired).

Two for Christmas!

I've got two Christmas cards to share today using a lovely new stamp set by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous called Festive Overlay. (it's on sale today, Black Friday, over at The Funkie Junkie Boutique!) All the images look great stamped behind all the sentiments!  You just have to figure out a lighter shade of color for the image so the sentiment shows up over it!
I used Pierced Feature Frames Ovals from PTI cutting them out of white paper and Birch Wrapping Paper.  I stamped the Santa in Broken China DOX - stamping off on paper first so the ink wasn't too dark and then stamping on the card stock oval, and stamped the sentiment over it using Wendy Vecchi Archival Watering Can Ink.
and on the inside I used the inside oval cut from the birch wrapping paper behind the sentiment! (sorry for the blurry photo!)
I'm linking my Santa card to:
I made my second card using a wreath from the same stamp set - but instead of stamping it in ink, I colored the stamp with my Mowed Lawn Ranger Distress Marker, spritzed the stamp with my water mister and stamped it on the die cut oval.
I stamped the sentiment in Wendy Vecchi Archival Red Geranium Ink first - but it wasn't quite dark enough to show up over the green -  so I stamped over it with Hero Hues Black - a tough thing to do since its a red rubber stamp but somehow I got it just right - a little off set - so you can see the red around the edge of the black!?!  (how often would that work out??!! )
And here's the inside.  I stamped the sentiment the same way with both red and black inks and it worked out again! (I did have a couple of non alignment stampings that went in the bin!)

I'm linking my watercolored wreath to:

Two more for the Christmas box!  I actually have enough cards made for this year already for my own cards but I sell some at my church as well so always good to have extra!

Stamps:  Festive Overlay - Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous.
Paper:  White - PTI, Birch Bark Wrapping Paper - Pier 1 Imports.
Ink:  Ranger Distress Oxide Broken China, Wendy Vecchi Archival Watering Can and Red Geranium, Hero Hues Black.
Accessories:  Pierced Feature Frames Ovals - PTI, foam dots, water mister.

Wishing You Peace and Joy

I have two Christmas cards to share today.

I created my positive and negative backgrounds using Tim Holtz Cracked Embossing Folder.  I sponged Antarctic Fresco Finish Chalk Paint over one side of the inside of my embossing folder, spritzed heavily with water and pressed a panel of watercolor paper into it and rubbed over it for a minute or two to be sure the watery ink absorbed into the paper.  I removed the panel and washed the EF.  I used the same technique on the other side of the EF.

I thought the light blue paint made a rather artistic snowy background for my stamping of Tim Holtz Scribble Woodland stamps.

I'm linking my cards to:
Embossing Folder, Acrylic Paint, stamping, Clear Glitter Wink of Stella

Stamps:  Scribble Woodland - Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous
Ink:  Hero Hues Black, Ranger Distress Oxide Stormy Sky.
Paper:  Water color paper - Canson, White and Blueberry Sky - PTI
Accessories:  Cracked Embossing Folder - Tim Holtz/Sizzix, Antarctic Fresco Finish Chalk Paint - Paper Artsy, water Mister, Clear Glitter Wink of Stella.

Let Old Wrinkles Come

I had a new owl stamp and sentiment that I was dying to get inky.
And I found several owl challenges out there for inspiration!
Here is a card I made using them!'
I stamped the background with Tim Holtz Tree Line stamps and PTI's  Birch Background.  I embossed the owl on a separate piece, die cut the piece, sponged it with Distress Ink and layered it over the background with foam dots.  I added the fun eyelash google eyes and embossed the sentiment  below the inkings.

I'm linking my card to:
My card is layered mixed media. Inspired by the owls and their big eyes!

I was inspired by an owl banner from Hayneedle

Stamps:  Owl #D9780and sentiment #C14712 - Impression Obsession, Tree Line - Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous, Background Basics: Birch - PTI
Paper:  White, Soft Stone - PTI

The Seas and Everything that Moveth Therein

Today I'm playing along with the June CAS Watercolour Card Challenge.  The theme is OCEAN.
I've been wanting to learn more about watercoloring on cards and this challenge is a great way to do it with all of the inspiration from the design team and links on the challenge blog to techniques!
For my watercolor background I used a pouncing technique where I rubbed Ranger Distress Inks onto my craft mat, spritzed the colors with water and pounced the watercolor panel into one color at a time - drying with my heat tool between colors.  The first color I used was Cracked Pistachio, the second Broken China and then Seedless Preserves (which I just pounced along the bottom edge).

Then I stamped one of the fish from Sea Life from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous over the panel.  I layered the panel over a cream Bazzill card base using form dots.  I stamped the Psalm from Beauty by the Sea from Sweet N Sassy on a piece of watercolor paper and adhered it below the watercolor panel.

Anything Goes

Coffee Lovers Blot Hop - No Sugar Needed

I'm entering a 2nd card in the Spring and Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  There are SO MANY prizes to be won from SO MANY sponsors -  and we can enter as often as we like!  We have until June 1 at 6 pm Pacific time to link our cards.
Here's my card.  I used bright orange colors and a beautiful sunflower on the mug!
Stamps are Cafe Art from Wendy Vecchi/Stampers Anonymous.  The mug is a Mat Mini Get Mugged also from Wendy Vecchi.  I colored it by smooshing it on my craft mat with Ranger Distress Spiced Marmalade ink and water.  I stenciled the top and bottom with Dots and Stripes Stencil from Wendy Vecchi sponging over it with Spiced Marmalade and a little bit of Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  I drew a line across the open edge with a brown Micron pen.  I die cut the leaves with a leaf from Stitching Garden from PTI.  The sunflower is two layers of Daisy Doodles from Prima.

I stamped and stenciled on the inside with a sentiment from Think Big Favorites #12 from PTI.

A Tag for Christmas

I have a tag to share today that I made for 3 challenges!
The Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers is Balsam Hill this week and I was inspired by  this lovely table top tree.
I created a Christmas tag with a wrinkled seam tape ribbon looped through the top that is long enough to tie around a bottle of bubbly if that's the gift I decide to put it on!
I stamped the tree (this set is on sale now!) in two greens (two stamps), then I silver embossed the garland and cranberry embossed the berry/ornaments. I embossed the urn in Ranger Pumice Stone Emb Powder and it really feels like stone when you touch it - Distress Emb Powder leaves a texture.
I die cut my tag out of white card and patterned paper and adhered them together. I layered the Arch die cut over the tag and then layered the tree over the arch with foam dots. The sentiment is stamped on a piece left from the arch die cut that I cut the tip off of!
I'm also linking my tag to Loll's 12 Tags of Christmas challenge going on now through Nov 17th.  She's got prizes to be won so check it out and link up your mixed media tag soon!
