The Heart of a Tree

I found this older tree stamp from Stamp Oasis (Rubbernecker used to sell them) in my 'tree' drawer and I just had to ink it up -   but I decided to do a watercolor technique of coloring the stamp with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (I used a light green, a dark green and a brown), spritzing the stamp with water and then pressing the stamp onto watercolor paper -  and this is what happened!
TOTALLY love how it came out!  I die cut the panel and the card base using Noted: Scalloped A2 dies from PTI.  I stamped the Proverb from an old Stampendous set called Inspired Verses using Wendy Vecchi Archival Orange Blossom Ink.
To balance off the card design - I added 2 mint green enamel dots in the left corner.
(I know, I didn't follow the rule of 3, but there really wasn't room for 3 and I only had 2 dots this size!)

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop - Card #3

Here's my 3rd card for the fun Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop!
The hop runs through Friday June 30 and there are lots of prizes to win!
I made a background panel by rubbing Ranger Distress Oxides in Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber onto my craft mat, spritzing each color with water and then pressing and dragging my panel over the colors.
After the panel was dry, I stamped this great image, Framed Coffee for Two by Stamplorations in black ink.  The frame die is Mix and Mat- Herringbone from PTI.   The sentiment stamp is from Ali Express - a company in China.  I added a few rhinestones for sparkle!

I'm also linking my card to:

Coffee Lovers Summer Blog Hop! Card #1

I'm so excited to be participating in the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!   It's always such a fun inspiring event and there are SO MANY prizes to be won!! whoo hoo!!
Thank you Amy, and the rest of the team that work so hard to organize this!
I made a clean and simple card today with a water color wash background on Arches watercolor paper.  I stamped the park scape in Archival Jet Black Ink, dried it with my heat tool, brushed water over the area I wanted to watercolor and then brushed on the watercolor paints.  I dried it again with my heat tool and then stamped the sentiment on.
The sentiment is from an older Papertrey Ink set - Warm Happiness and the Parkscape is a red rubber stamp from Stampendous.

Are you participating in the blog hop too? It runs from  Friday, June 23 - Friday, June 30.
You'll find the link up and list of all the prizes to be won here.

I'm also linking my card to:

Stamps:  Parkscape - Stampendous, Warm Happiness - PTI
Paper:  Arches Watercolor paper, white - PTI

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Keep Calm and Put the Kettle On

Here's my second card for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop
and here is my 2nd spring design coffee card!
First, I sponged over the background using Wendy Vecchi's Check Mate Stencil with Sky Blue Ink.  I used her Stripes stencil on the top and bottom edges with black ink. I used a fun Wendy Vecchi Cone Flower stamp/stencil set for the flowers, where you stamp the flower and then there are two stencils included with the stamp, the flower shape and the stem shape, so you lay the stencil over the stamping and sponge on the color!  So easy!!
I die cut a strip of grass out of green tissue paper and adhered it over the bottom of the stem.  I stamped the sentiment from Stampendous on a panel cut with a Stitched Mat Rectangle die from Lil' Inker Designs.
You'll find lots of Spring Coffee lovers inspiration over at the hop here

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Yikes!  where was I??? I almost missed the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog hop! But luckily saw it two days before it ends!
I was excited to use this wonderful sentiment stamp from Stampendous that I purchased after the last Coffee Lovers blog hop. (I'm always looking for coffee/tea stamps now, aren't you??!!)
I added two die cut leaves using dies from PTI - one out of Kraft Core Coredinations paper that I sanded to expose the kraft.
I die cut the other leaf out of patterned paper from PTI.  I colored the mug and FRIEND in fall colors of Zig Brush pens.
I die cut the panel with a Wonky Stitched die from Avery Elle and popped it up over the leaves with foam dots.  I sponged all the edges with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink.

I'm off to the Coffee Lovers Blog to see the plethora of coffee/tea/cocoa cards linked up there!  There are tons of prizes to be won - so get yours linked up too!

Friends are the Cream

Here's my first card for 2015!  I did a little shopping at Joann's and Michaels today - and one of my purchases was this cute Friends Cup stamp from Stampendous - I've seen it used on several blogs and love the viewpoint of looking down into the top of the cup from above.  AND it was on sale 40% off AND I had an additional 15% off my entire purchase coupon!  So instead of $9.99 it was around $4.50!
I embossed the stamping with Copper Embossing powder and used Glitter Cardstock for the panels.  The Happy Birthday is from the Party Animal Set by Avery Elle.  I added 3 Kraft Blend sequins - also from Avery Elle.  The coffee cup and sentiment are popped up on foam dots.  And just a note:  I always use ScorTape when sticking these glitter panels to each other since the glitter sometimes doesn't want to hold to lighter adhesive!  This card is REALLY glittery IRL!

My card design was inspired by the following challenges:
House of Cards - Use Glitter and/or Inspiration photo
NBUS - never before used - stamp

Stamps:  Friends Cup - Stampendous,  Party Animal - Avery Elle
Paper:  white - PTI, Glitter Card stock - Michaels
Ink:  Versamark
Accessories:  Copper Embossing Powder - Ranger, heat tool, ScorTape, foam dots, Circle Nestability, Kraft Blend Sequins - Avery Elle, Word Window Punch - SU.

Creations by AR July Release - Fore the Golfer!!

Oh my goodness - what a fun template the Design Team has to show you today for the Creations by AR July Release.  Adela has created a wonderful GOLF CART -  Fore the Golfer - perfect for all your friends and family that love to get out on the green!!  All of Adela's templates come in 3 formats - PDF to print and cut out, SVG and DXF to use with cutting machines like Silhouette Cameo.

I like to check out Pinterest for ideas on style, color and design and here's what I found.
This one that inspired me for theme design.
and this one that inspired me for colors:
And here's how I interpreted the inspiration into my "Fore the Golfer" Template Golf Cart!
I used pictures from my two nieces weddings. Here's the cart from the back with a picture of my niece Christie and her husband Nate.
Side view:

I adhered a fringe to the edge of the roof panel (don't you love it!!??!) - trimming the fringe as it is twice as long as shown here! (all I can hear in my head is that old song from the musical Oklahoma "surrey with the fringe on top"
Instead of a golf ball in the 'seat'  I inserted 2 pictures of my niece Katie and her husband Greg  - facing out on both sides.  I just curled each picture a bit and slipped them into the cut out circle on the top of the seat..
Here's a close up of the wired clay flowers (Michaels wedding section) that I placed in the holes  in the 'trunk' where you could also put golf tees. I knotted a piece of netting and inserted it behind the flowers. Both sentiments are die cut with rectangle Nestabilities and mounted on the cart with foam tape.
Adela's template uses a white circle for the steering wheel - but I had a metal sprocket gear from Tim Holtz that looks like a steering wheel that I thought would look fun!   I adhered a piece of a thin craft stick under the column that holds the wheel to support the extra weight of the metal.  I adhered the wheel with a thick glue dot to the template piece.
And here's a funny story -   Kent and I went to a wedding on Cape Cod a couple of weekends ago (just after I had made my wedding golf cart) and look what they had there!?!  The wedding was held outside on a farm and they had this golf cart available for people that might need rides around the area!!  So, of course, I just had to snap this picture!!
And just in case you are interested in seeing the full pictures of the ones I cut up of my beautiful nieces for this project- here they are -  Christie and Nate on their wedding day (with sister Katie looking on)
and here's Katie and Greg on their wedding day.
So - one more look at my wedding golf cart - Isn't this just the cutest thing??!!   It measures about 5.25" x 4" x 2 1/2".  What kind of golf cart would you make??
I'm off to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team linked below - want to come too?  Leave comments along the way and you could win this cool little golf cart template!
