Acrylic Galaxy Background with Paper Landscapes - Wanderlust

This month the Eileen Hull Inspiration Team is working with Crescent Art Products along with Eileen's new Sizzix collection Paper Flower Party
The Inspiration Team will be focusing on two Crescent Art Products, RENDR paper and Photo Mat Art Board.
RENDR Paper is 100% no-show through.  This means you can ink, stamp, spray, paint and color to your heart’s content with absolutely no bleed through.
Photo Mat Art Board is another fantastic Crescent product being showcased this month.  Photo Mat Art Boards make it easy to create professional quality photo projects with your own artistic style.
I used both products on my project today. My design was created from the latest class over at Wanderlust - Acrylic Galaxy Background with Paper Landscapes by Jennifer Lee. And I am just THRILLED with how it came out!
I started with an 8"x10" Crescent Photo Mat Board and painted it with black acrylic paint. I wasn't worried about making smooth brush strokes as the idea is to create layers with the paints.
When that layer was dry - I added three more dark colors - I can't give all the details since it was from a class but I'll show you photos.  I sort of pounced the colors on - then you pounce over it all with a damp sponge.
When this layer was dry I added some light colors in soft swirls with a rounder brush, adding black again if it got too light.
then came the stars - some dotted on with a paintbrush and then splattered on with a toothbrush. (toothbrush splatter not shown accept on final photo)
To make the paper landscape I sprayed a piece of RENDR paper with Ranger Distress Spray Stains
And tore strips off to look like mountains, tearing it towards me so the white edge shows.
The beauty of RENDR paper is that nothing you put on one side will bleed through the paper.  Here you can see how even the Spray Stain did not come through on the back.
I embossed a few of the landscape layers using Eileen Hull's new Textured Expressions Embossing Folders - Honey Comb, Daisy Wreath and Basket Weave to add some extra dimension to the landscape.
The Planet Earth photo that I mounted inside the frame opening is from an old school book I had torn up for this Wanderlust class project - I saved some of the photo pages when I tore them out of the book - it was the perfect image for this project!  I white embossed the Bible Verse from Scripture Collection 1 by Our Daily Bread.
I added a die cut easel (Tim Holtz Alterations) to the back so this project could be displayed on a shelf or mantel.
I really love this acrylic galaxy background I learned to paint  - I'm sure I'll be trying this again!
I hope I've inspired you with my project using the Crescent Photo Mat Artboard, the RENDR paper as well as Eileen's new embossing folders!  Please check Eileen's Blog for more ideas from her Inspiration Team all month long!

A Few More Dare Cards - Keep the Faith

Today I'm sharing a few more cards that I made for the Dare To Get Dirty challenges going on all week over on Split Coast. I'm not going to be able to get them all done the way I did last year - but I'm enjoying making the ones I have time to do!  I've been using stamps and supplies that I haven't gotten out in a while and using some techniques that have been long forgotten!   And that's always a good thing - to use what I have!

For this card I rubbed my ink pad over the inside cover of the embossing folder and then embossed the panel to get this lovely background!  I die cut the verse from Isaiah with a Mega Mat die from PTI and layered it over the panel with foam dots.
On this card I gold embossed the Psalm from Our Daily Bread, drew a  partial frame around the card with a gold Spica pen and added a die cut 'grateful' along the top.
And for my third card today -  I die cut the Isaiah verse with a Wonky Rectangle and added the die cut 'blessed' along the bottom.  Both up on foam dots

I'm entering this card in a new challenge I found recently -  the Word Art Wednesday  This week it's anything goes.

Barkday Bookmark

I made a bookmark for Tammie's Who Let the Dogs Out HYCCT challenge on Split Coast - to use a dog image (cancer patients and their families often have a 'ruff' day)

This is also for the SCS Queen for the Day, who is Glowbug - I cased her In the Garden bookmark.  I used a different stamp on the bookmark, brown instead of blue, and I added the dog stamp and birthday sentiment.

The dog and sentiment are from Paper Smooches.  The bookmark stamp and die are from Our Daily Bread Designs.

And finally this is also for the Cas-ual Friday challenge - to use Kraft.

My picture shows two bookmarks - one slipped on a page and the other taken off the page so you can see the full size. I kept it all flat so it wouldn't be bulky when in use!

Stamps: Bookmark birds - Our Daily Bread Designs, Dog and Happy Bark Day from Birthday Buddies - Paper Smooches
Paper: Kraft - Gina K Designs
Ink: Archival Coffee
Accessories: Scor Tape, Copic - E37, Circle Punch - SU, Bookmark die - Our Daily Bread Designs

The Promise of Easter - John 14:3

I made this card for 4 challenges:
SCS Color Challenge - Mary gave us Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party to work with.
SCS Ways to Use It - focus on the sentiment
SCS Featured Stamper -  Redlynny (Vickie Simmer) - I CASED this lovely card of Vickie's, using the same frippery stamps, a different background stamp and different colors.
Raise the Bar #98 - the Promise of Easter - use an Easter Image or Sentiment

The Bible Verse is from Scripture Collection II by Our Daily Bread Designs.  The herringbone background stamp is from Heirloom Patterns and the green and blue frippery label stampings are from Florentine Frippery by Waltzingmouse.  I sponged the edges of the herringbone panel and the Bible verse with Wild Honey Distress ink.  I love how bright the colors look on this - and the promise of this wonderful verse.......

Note!:   the topic for the Waltzingmouse Blog Party for April 17th  has been chosen - check out all the details here!  (listed on my side bar as well!)
Thanks for stopping by today!

He has made Everything Beautiful!

I made this pretty flowered card for 3 challenges -   the Tuesday Teapot Challenge on Split Coast was to bring flowers to the party -  so I made this lovely layered flower using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  I'm sending this card to Lindsay - along with all the pieces to make another card just like it so Lindsay will have something to help keep her busy while she's having some medical treatments -  you can read all about it at SCS in the forum.

I used the JUGS#87 Sketch for the design of my card

and I used only a sentiment -  no other stamps - for the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge.  I used this lovely Bible verse from the Scripture 1 Collection.  I thought it complimented my flower nicely!

Thanks for coming by today!

Everything Beautiful

Mercy (mkstampin74) was the featured stamper on Split Coast this week - I've been in her gallery alot and it was difficult to chose just one card! I finally decided on this pretty card to CASE. I changed the colors and the stamp used and framed my verse with nestabilities - but other than that it's pretty much the same - I love how she used the top note on her card.

I just love the new Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday papers - this one I used with the Top Note die is called Wednesday. The Bible verse is a stamp from the Scripture Collection I from Our Daily Bread.

I've been really busy this week preparing materials for two classes I'm teaching at The Papertree in Manchester, NH this Saturday so I haven't been posting much! Never enough hours in the day for all I want to do!!

Stamps: Our Daily Bread: Scripture Collection I
Paper: YoYo Yellow: SU, Ocean tides, PTI, DP Cosmo cricket girl friday/wednesday, My Minds Eye Bloom Grow/lots of dots
