Life Becomes More Bright

Happy Friday everyone!   I made this card for this weeks One Layer Wednesday challenge -  Ardyth challenged us to make a one layer birthday card in a style she would like (it's her b'day this week)  She loves cheerful bright colors so that is what I used on my card.  I'm also linking this up to Darnell's blog to celebrate Ardyth's b'day.

To make the design - I dropped dots of re-inkers onto the card and blew them with a straw.  I think it gives a great effect - certainly bright and colorful!  The sentiment is from the MFT About Birthdays set.

Got to dash -  I'm on my way to pick up Anne Harmon (jdmommy).  We're 'working' the stamp show at the Eastern States Exposition (the Big E!) 1305 Memorial Avenue (Rte. 147) West Springfield, MA this weekend with Dave at the Rubbernecker booth.  If you're in the area please drop by and say hi!!

Stamps:  MFT - About Birthdays
Paper:  white - PTI
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, reinkers Cameo Coral, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue -SU

One Layer Spring has Sprung Sketch!

Hi Stamping friends!   TGIF!!  I'm SO excited the weekend is here -  yard work is on the 'to do list' but that's ok -  I enjoy being outdoors and the weather is supposed to be sunny and warm here in MA.

So for today's card I'm using the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch -

I die cut a rectangle out of the card base for the rectangle piece on the sketch, and I chose the images based on the One Layer Wednesday - Spring has Sprung.  There's a prize for this weeks OLW of  the Waltzingmouse Stamp set - Blessed by You!    I used two WMS sets on my card today -  the sentiments and daffodils are from Spring Baskets and the background stamp is from Pic-Nic Patterns (I LOVE this stamp!)
On another day - I might have framed the rectangle or added some bling to the centers of the flowers or around the sentiment - but since the challenge is to keep it CAS -  that's how I kept it!!  Here's how the inside of the card looks when the receiver opens it up!
I'll be sending this to my 94 year old Aunt Edie in Georgia for Mother's Day  -  She is the last remaining sibling of the four girls in my mother's family -  I send her cards for every holiday since I don't get to see her very often and she always appreciates receiving them.
Have a great weekend everyone!

A-Ok Anniversary and a Cameo Thank You.

Happy Sunday everyone - just got back from an invigorating walk with Kent - it's a gorgeously sunny day here in MA today - the sky is clear blue without a cloud in sight!  The temp is hovering around 50 degrees though so we still needed a light jacket!   We seem to have spring for a day here and there - then the temps drop again.  But the trees are budding and all the spring bulbs are growing so it's all good!

I have two cards to share today - this first one was made for the One Layer Wednesday Challenge - A-Ok - to use elements on your card that begin with A.   I used the words Amour and Anniversary and I used the color Aqua Blue.  My stamps are all from Waltzingmouse.

When I was creating this design - I stamped it first on a white panel to try it out. I liked it so I made another card with more layers on it using that panel.  Just a slightly different look - framing it in black and then a blue card base.

My second card was created for the Little Red Wagon Challenge -  to use a cameo.  I was inspired by a photo I found on Pinterest
And here is the card I created.  My stamps are all Waltzingmouse.  I embossed the images in black on the die cut egg and layered it over the embossed black panel with foam tape.  I added a clear heart rhinestone to the decorative branch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Anniversary card:

Chevrons and Flowers in Threes

I created this card for 2 challenges.

Ardyth's One Layer Wednesday challenge is to have something in 3's -  I used 3 stamps, 3 inks - and even the hyacinth has 3 blooms on it (if you don't count that tiny one on the left just starting to grow!  I know it looks like I masked the chevron to stamp the hyacinth - but I didn't (!) I just managed to stamp it perfectly in line with the dip in the chevron! (that wouldn't happen too often!!)

This week's Cas-ual Fridays challenge is to feature both chevrons and flowers on your CAS card.

My hyacinth is from Vintage Garden Flowers, the chevron is from Off Beat Backgrounds and the 'in sympathy' sentiment is from Asian Garden Additions - all from Waltzingmouse.

I've had a really bad cold all week -  sore throat, stuffed then runny nose and generally feeling 'yuck'!!  Kent came down with it on Easter morning and was generous enough to pass it on to me!!  So I'm heading for the couch soon!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

I'll be posting WMS April Release Sneak Peeks along with the rest of the Design Team starting April 15th - and the Friends of WMS Blog party is coming up on 4/17 - the theme this month is Spring Flowers - check out the details on the WMS blog.
