Three for Luck!

So I need to make some St. Patrick's Day cards for a sale at my church next month -  people mostly buy the chocolate shamrock pops my friend Jeannine makes but some also want to buy cards.

I looked to the challenges out in blog land for inspiration for my designs and, of course I found some!

My first card design was inspired by the February CAS Mix Up Card Challenge.
The Love Notes die from Reverse Confetti has score lines on it so the edges can be folded up to make the die dimensional - sort of little tray!  I die cut it out of Translucent Alcohol Ink Yupo.  I colored it by pouncing one the new Alcohol Pearl Inks called Sublime onto it.  I stamped the sentiment from Irish Blessings (retired from Waltzingmouse) on a white strip and added a die cut Memory Box clover - both up on foam dots.

My second card was inspired by the Sunday Stamp Challenge.
I die cut a scallop heart Nestability and layered a die cut clover over it.  I put a strip of washi tape behind it.  I used the Pierced Feature Frame Rectangle die from PTI for the background and framing. The sentiment is another one from Irish Blessings.
My third card was inspired by the Country View Challenges: Black and White Plus One color.

So this is very similar to my first card above but I stamped the circles on the white card die cut and added a piece of washi tape behind it.   The sentiment is from Irish Blessings and the dots are from Off Beat Backgrounds - both retired from Waltzingmouse.

So now I have 3 St. Patrick's Day cards for my church sale!

Mid Month Reminder - Feb CAS Mix Up Challenge

Just a mid-month reminder from me today that there's still time to join in on the February CAS Mix Up Challenge!
For my reminder card I used both felt and cork, stamping and die cuts.  A day late for Valentine's day - but I made this ahead of time and it's already been mailed and received!
I die cut the thin cork and red felt using heart Nestabilities.  The background die cut is Mix and Mat Plaid Die set from PTI.  I stamped a sentiment from Distressed Hearts from MFT on a Sentiment Strip die cut from MFT.
I used ScorTape to adhere the cork heart to the background and I used Tombow Glue on the felt heart and sentiment strip.

We have until February 24th to link up our cards using felt, cork or canvas - there are several links to techniques in using all three over at the CAS Mix Up Blog.  Please join us!

STOP THE PRESSES!!!   Loll and Bonnie are launching a new CAS Challenge on March 3rd!
You'll find it here
Check out the new design team and all the details of the challenge.
We hope you'll play along and get all of your Christmas cards done early!!  I know I'll be joining in!!

Waltzingmouse - August Sneak Peek - Day 1

I'm excited to welcome you to the first day of the Waltzingmouse August Release Sneak Peeks!  Claire is releasing 8 exciting new sets this Wednesday Aug 27th! Today the Design Team is creating with stamps from two of the sets Vintage Baby Shower and Hello Happy Thanks.  All the sets will also have coordinating dies available for purchase.

The Vintage Baby Shower set is just that - a set of 4 wonderful vintage baby images with two beautifully fonted sentiments!  I colored the bonneted baby image with Copics layering it over some pretty patterned paper and die cuts with sponged edges.  I added 3 sparkly sequins for a little shine.
On this 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" card I used two sentiments from the new set Hello Happy Thanks - this versatile set has 3 large sentiments and 14 small sentiments - useful for so many occasions!  I also used the sweet little vintage baby shoe from the Vintage Baby Shower set on my card - a mix of modern and vintage!
You'll find links to all of the Design Team members highlighting these sets today over at the WMS blog as well as below:

So Glad You Asked for My Number!

Today is Kent and my 17th wedding anniversary -  so when I woke up this morning and Kent was still sleeping, I made this card for him - somehow family cards are the last to be made!  Do you find that to be true??!!  I'll give it to him as we eat supper out on our deck tonight.  We're a little low key on our celebration of events lately -  we'll be going out to dinner tomorrow afternoon to celebrate, since I attended a work dinner last night and am still stuffed from it!!
I used a really fun stamp set called 'It's Today, Right?!  from Lil' Inkers Design - that I purchased quite some time ago after seeing some really cute cards using the stamps out in blogland.  So today - I cracked the set open and got it inky!
I tried to keep it masculine - using white, kraft and black - with just a touch of bling and color with the Lemonade Blend sequins from Avery Elle - and the coloring on the flower and dress hem on the image with a Wild Honey Ranger Distress Marker.  I used a stitched mat Circle and Square dies from Lil' Inker Designs and a Pinking Circle Nestability die.  The image is popped up on foam tape.

and here are 3 more sentiments from the set that I used on the inside - SO FUN!
This is a second marriage for both Kent and myself -  he was widowed 2 years before I met him - and I was divorced - a single parent- for 13 years when we met.   We met through mutual friends - and hit it off right away - started dating a week or two after we met and got married 2 years later.  He has been and continues to be - a blessing in my life - Love You Kent!

I'm linking my anniversary card to the following challenges:
Cas-ology - celebrate (they are celebrating their 100th week!)
Cas(e) this Sketch - combined with Fusion this week - I just used the sketch here.
NBUS Challenge - Celebrations  (my 2nd entry) 1st time I've used this stamp set.

Ink:  Archival Jet Black

Easter Eggs x Two

Well -  we are back to Monday again (where do the weekends go?!) and I'm back with two cards to share -  I needed a few more Easter cards - having sold most of mine at our church sale yesterday (!)  so here are two that I made.
This first card is clean and light - I used some eggs I had already die cut with my Nested Egg Nestabilities but then didn't use.  The paper is from the Sweet Sorbet pack by Stampin' Up with a piece of torn Washi tape behind them.  The two smaller eggs are popped up on foam dots.  I used my ever present Stitched Mat Rectangle die for the panel, layering it over a white card base.
For my second card I went colorful and bright using primary colors for my Nestie eggs, decorating them with a chevron die cut, Washi Tape and Liquid Pearls.  I made my flower with Buttons Stack die set from PTI, and the grass is a die from MFT - all popped up on foam dots.  I layered everything over a Stitched mat rectangle die cut of patterned paper from DCWV.
My inspiration for the design of both cards was the photo for this week's Addicted to Stamps Challenge
I'm also linking to the Cut It Up Challenge -  Easter and use a die cut
and Cas-ual Fridays -  Good Egg - Use Ovals
I'll be back tomorrow with more Easter inspiration for my monthly post for the Waltzingmouse - Team Talk Blog - I hope you can stop by!

Wet Baby

Having missed the challenge deadline for yesterday's card - I wanted to be sure to get these posted before they were too late!  I have two cards to share.

I made my first card using a Tear Drops Stencil from MFT on a panel die-cut with a Stitched Mat Rectangle from Lil' Inker Designs.  I sponged only a portion of the stencil using Archival Cornflower ink.  The stamps are from Asian Garden Additions from Waltzingmouse.  I added 3 little dew drops to the stenciled tears (I haven't used these dew drops in years!)
I'm entering this card in the CAS-ology Cue Card - Wet challenge.
I have a friend who owns a sweet little baby shop in a neighboring town - and she buys baby cards from me to sell there.  I made this card to show her for possible purchase.  The blocks are from the Multi- Step Baby set by Kitchen Sink Stamps using 3 shades of pink ink  (see the baby shoes stamp on this card here)
Here you can hopefully see how 3D the image looks - it's really cool how the multi stamps work-  I die cut the panel the blocks are stamped on with a square Nestability.  The arrow is a die from MFT and the white panel was die cut (again!) with the stitched mat rectangle die from Lil' Inker Designs (I think I have used this die on almost every card I've made the last few weeks!!)
I made this card in 3 colors -  for girl babies, boy babies and for 'sex not known yet' babies!
For the design on these sweet baby cards I used the Wanna Sketch?

Oval Easter

I'm still building up my supply of Easter Cards for both sending to friends and family - and to sell at the Easter Sale two stamping friends and I are having at church in a couple of weeks.  Today I pulled out a cute Easter set - A Good Egg by Waltzingmouse and my oval Nestabilities to make this clean and simple card.  The image panel is die cut with an plain oval Nestability and the card is cut with a scallop edge Nestability.  I placed the die slightly above the fold of the card so the front and back stay together with the 'hinge' at the top.  The scallops also allow the card to stand up, if I used just the plain oval - I would have cut it off flat just a bit on the bottom so it wouldn't roll!
And since I need a lot of cards - and this one was so easy to make -  I made 4 of them while I had all the supplies out.  Don't they look festive all in a row!?!
My design was inspired by the Cas-ual Fridays Challenge -  to use ovals
I just realized the challenge is called Good Egg -   and I used a stamp set called A Good Egg (!)

Stamps:  A Good Egg - Waltzingmouse, numbers - Karen Foster Snap Stamps/retired.
Paper:  Rustic Cream - PTI
Ink:  Archival Leaf Green and Orange Blossom, Ranger Distress Scattered Straw.
Accessories:  Classic and Scallop edge Oval Nestabilities.

Fusion Card Challenge - March 27th

It's another Thursday and that brings us a new Fusion Challenge!  Look at the cool inspiration photo we have today - AND the terrific sketch!  We continue to have a wonderful response to the Fusion challenges with so many beautiful creations linked up and I think this one will inspire as well!
I'm so proud of myself this week (!?!) - I actually combined the photo and sketch on my card!  (Yay me!)  The dress form in the picture reminded me I had a stamp set and die from PTI  that would be perfect to use for my card.
I started my card by cutting the base with a stitched mat rectangle die which I then sponged using a brick wall stencil from MFT with both Pumice Stone and Fired Brick Distress inks.  I cut another smaller stitched rectangle out of both card stock and Terminology Tissue Wrap - and adhered them together.  I then die cut an oval Nestability placing the dress form die inside the oval when I cut it.   I sponged the edges of the oval with Pumice Stone Distress Ink and layered it over the text panel.  As a nod to the orange scarf in the image - I layered a piece of orange burlap behind the text panel.  I stamped the sentiment on a stitched mat gray panel and tucked it under the edge of the text panel.
How does this photo and sketch inspire you?!!  I can't wait to see it linked up over at Fusion!
You'll find lots of inspiration on the Design Team's blogs linked below!

Love in a Bag

I've got two more Valentine's to share with you today (still building up my stash for the Valentine Sale at my church).  One's a treat bag and one is a card.
I made my card using the sketch for a new challenge I just found -  Stamplorations -  they have bi-weekly sketch challenges and a monthly challenge.
I used two different tags and a love word die from PTI.  The white tag is embossed with the Hugs and Kisses Coverup from MFT.  Here is the challenge sketch.
My next project is a Valentine Treat bag
I used a pretty 4"x5" organza bag from Pouch Mart.  The doily was made using an Eyelet Circle Nestability.  I stamped and cut out the heart from My Heart by WMS.  The sentiment is from Sweethearts by WMS stamped on a stitched flag die from Lil' Inker Designs.

I'm entering my little treat bag in two challenges:

Waltzingmouse Fanatics - to use Fabric (I used an organza bag)

Curtain Call - Love Letter Inspiration photo (inspired by the doily and heart packaging)

Together Forever

Ok - so I'm moving on to the next holiday -  Valentine's Day!  I just love making Valentine's - love the red, white and black color combination, lacey doilies, hearts - love it all!  Two stamping friends and I also have a Valentine's Day sale at our church in the beginning of February so I have to get going on my stash of cards!
I made this card for the Addicted to CAS  Code Word: Die Cuts. (boy, even their challenge sign is in the right colors for Valentine's!)
I used a 'together' die from PTI and 2 Nestability Heart dies.  I used plain white cardstock for my card base but layered a Bazzill white panel on top to give a little texture to the background.  I layered the hearts with foam tape and adhered the 'together' onto the panel with a glue pen.  Then I just added some winter blend sequins from Avery Elle using Glossy Accents as adhesive..

Here's what I stamped on the inside -  the stamps are from My Heart and Seasons of Love, two sets from Waltzingmouse.
That word 'forever' sometimes scares guys away (!) so you have to be sure of the person you're giving this card to!! (like you're already married to him kind of sure!) LOL!!

Stamps:  Forever and heart from My Heart, Be Mine...Valentine from Seasons of Love - Waltzingmouse
Paper:  white, true black, pure poppy - PTI, white - Bazzill
Ink:  Ranger Distress Fired Brick, Archival Jet Black

We'll Miss You Charlene!

Today I have sad news to share - if you have been active on Split Coast Stampers then you no doubt knew Charlene Merrick (Lilluvsstampin), a sweet stamper from Michigan who was just a lovely person and friend. She also had a blog - WhereMMsGather (she loved M and M's!) No - I never met her in person, but you know how stampers are - you 'meet' them in the stamping community and become fast friends.

Charlene was diagnosed about a year ago with brain and liver cancer -  pretty much out of the blue - with no prior symptoms until the diagnosis.  And she finally succumbed to this terrible disease a few days ago.  A lot of us were sending her cards quite regularly to let her know there were people thinking of her.  So today - I made my final card for Charlene - to send to her husband Terry - with deepest sympathy.  Charlene - we will miss you but know you are now with God and no longer suffering from the illness in your body.

I used a brand new stamp set I just got from Avery Elle for my card, with a stitched mat die from Lil' Inker Designs and an embossing strip from Tim Holtz Alterations.
My card was inspired by the Case Study challenge

I also made a card for the Cas-ology Cue Card Challenge - Party
I found a tutorial by Libby Stamps for this wonderful star made from 6 hexagons that are scored and folded - so easy quick and fun! I added some washi tape and stamped a sentiment from Waltzingmouse right on it.
Here's the inside of my card:
Sending Prayers:
Stamps:  Thanks a Bunch - Avery Elle
Paper:  White - PTI, White - Bazzill
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Danube Blue, Love Letter and Cottage Ivy
Accessories:  Sequins - Caribbean Blend/Avery Elle, Stitched Mats Rectangles - Lil' Inker Designs, embossing strip - Springtime Background and Borders Set - Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades, Copic - Y06, foam dots, Glossy Accents.

The Life that is Waiting for Us.

I find myself all ready for Christmas with time to spend in my craft room!  So I checked out some of the weekly challenges and made this card:
I'm submitting it to the following challenges:
CAS on Sunday -  Happy New Year

Dynamic Duos I even got the 'sparkle' in!

  Cas-ual Fridays -Happy New Year

10 minute Craft  Dash Anything Goes   - this card took me 7 min 36 secs.

I don't send New Year's cards but thought this sentiment worked for the New Year concept of starting out fresh. "We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us"  Joseph Campbell.  The stamp is from Rubber Soul.

I'm taking Kent to the hospital this morning for his shoulder surgery - he'll be there overnight but hopefully ready to go home by noon time.  He's been in such pain from it - he's excited to finally be getting it 'fixed'!

Before I go -  I wanted to let you know about the template sale Adela has going on over at Creations by AR
She's offering a free Swirl Top Box template and 40% of everything else!
