I made this 6x6 page for the His Holy Name Challenge #17 - God's attribute for this week was 'Faithful'. I chose Psalm 145:13 to illustrate this attribute. The designer papers are Cosmo Cricket Earth Love that I just got this week. It's the front and back of one sheet. The yellow DP is Bitty Box Basics from Papertrey Ink.

I attached a little Noah's Ark charm from Hanna Stamps, tied with a ribbon - to illustrate how God is faithful in his promises - giving us the rainbow to let us know he would never destroy humanity by water again.

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch 101 for my page.

You can find the His Holy Name Challenges in the forums here or by clicking on the Holy Name logo on my side bar. Everyone is welcome to join in at any time!

DH Kent and I had a wonderful day today - after church we went kayaking on the Concord River for about 2 hours with my niece Christie and her husband Nate. It was sunny in the 70's without a cloud in the sky! We ate lunch on the river and then stopped for an ice cream on our way home - can't get much better than that!
For you Revolutionary War history buffs - this is the North Bridge of the Battle of Concord - of the Shot heard round the world fame. Part of the Lexington/Concord National Historic site is located here along the river.

We came upon this very stately blue heron, balancing on one long leg! He wasn't bothered by us at all as we rowed by him!
And one more news note - I'm so excited! Tuesday night I'm meeting Anne Harmon (jdmommy on SCS) at a nearby 99 Restaurant. We are on the DoubleDog Dare Challenge team together and I've known her for what seems like forever on Split Coast. We only live about 45 minutes away from each other but have never gotten together. We finally planned to meet for dinner after she visits with her mother who lives one town over from me. I'll be sure to get some pics to share!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday GI Josh

The cookout is over and we finally got everything cleaned up and put away. I just had to make a card for the Featured Stamper on Split Coast before I collapsed on the sofa! Sandra (B-gin-er) has a wonderful gallery of cards to look through - I finally chose this GI Jon Card to case.

I changed the colors, used a twill ribbon for the sentiment rather than a panel, used a bigger star and added my son's name to it. I used my new Jenome Sewing machine (which is on sale!) to do the stitching.

My son was in the Army so I always like to make cards for him using military theme stamps. This Riley is just so cute! My son's b'day isn't until September so now I'm ahead of the game - whoo hoo!
Ok - now I'm off to that sofa to collapse!

Stamps: GI Jon Riley: Hanna Stamps, PTI Birthday Basics, Karen Foster Snap Stamps.

A Page of Gratitude & some Artist Trading Cards

Hope you are all having a great Saturday - getting all your errands done or chores around the house - I've been happy as a clam getting some stamping done in my studio.

This fun little card (actually it's a big card - 5" x 5" !) was made for todays inspiration challenge - to be inspired by a scrapbook page in honor of National Scrapbooking Day.

I am a scrapbooker - but wasn't too enthused about this challenge - make a card from a page?? Didn't really float my boat if you KWIM? but then I browsed the Split Coast Scrapbooking forums where I have never wandered before and found this fun page by Jennie to be inspired by.

I chose this one because I had this wonderful sheet of DP from Making Memories with the stamp edge that I bought quite some time ago and then couldn't quite figure out how to use it on a card! So here was the perfect opportunity - I thought it would make a good substitute for the round edges on the inspiration page.

I colored my cute little girl from Whipper Snapper Designs that I got from Addicted to Rubber Stamps (one of my FAVORITE stamp websites - they have everything! see my side bar for a direct link to them) with Prismacolor markers and added the fun dotted primas. The sentiment is by PapertreyInk Beautiful Blooms set.

So I ended up really enjoying this challenge! Sometimes when we go where we don't think we want to we find great inspiration!

Stamps: Girl: whippersnapper designs, sentiment: PTI Beautiful blooms
Paper: very vanilla, DP: Making Memories - Hilary Stamp Shape
Ink: Onyx black versafine
Accessories: glue zots, dotted primas, Prismacolor markers: French grey, brittany blue, green tea, terra cota, yellow ochre, SU marker: Blush blossom

Several days ago I mentioned that I would be loading up some ATC's (Artist Trading Cards). Finally got the chance to do it!

I was invited by MissHelenStamps on SCS to participate in a monthly ATC swap with her. I had only made a couple of these cute little 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 cards before during Virtual Stamping Weekend challenges on SCS so I thought this would be fun! Each month one of us decides what the topic will be.

ATC's are a fun way to make a quick card design since there is not a lot of space to cover - and can be used to inspire a larger card at a later date. There are many people that swap these with large groups. Craft stores sell special round racks to hang and display them on. For now - I'm happy swapping with just Helen!

Here are 3 that I have made so far.

This one was St. Patrick's Day Theme

And here is a card I made later using the design from the ATC on the card.

Stamp: Sentiment: My Sentiment's Exactly, shamrock: AiP Vip's, Background - Cornish Heritage Farms. Paper: Green and orange Bazzill, Naturals Ivory Ink: Forest Green Stazon Ribbon: Martha Stewart

This one was to use an animal on your ATC. I used my cute Riley Stamp!

Stamp: Riley- Hanna Stamps, DP - K& Co. card stock: Very Vanilla - SU, Threaded Ribbon: SU, slot punch, dimensionals, Prismacolor markers

We had to use a flower on this ATC. I used the Paper Tole technique layering the pieces over the stamped flower.

Stamp: Measure of Life- SU, Paper: choc chip, pumpkin pie, very vanilla. Su markers, cuttlebug script folder. Ribbon, brads.

I made this Halloween ATC during an SCS Virtual Stamping Weekend for a 'Make An ATC' challenge.

Stamp: Close to my Heart, Prismacolor markers, ticket corner punch, bat eyelets, orange eyelets, stitched ribbon, ticket corner punch. Paper: Black, white.

So there you have the sum of my ATC experience so far! For May - Helen and I are making an ATC using only Black and White colors. I'll post mine after I've made it!

Have a great Saturday - Kent and I are off to the Melrose Symphony tonight with some friends - It's quite a professional group with a really congenial Conducter who always has a joke for the audience sometime during the performance!

Today's thought from Poor Richard's Almanac: "Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all."

Riley's Brewin

Hello everyone! I didn't think I would get to a card tonight - when I got home I had to work on more Easter crafts and make an ATC (artist trading card) for an exchange I do with MissHelenStamps on SCS and make and eat supper! - but, of course I did get to my card - it's the sketch challenge on SCS after all and I ALWAYS do that challenge, right??!!

And I finally used my Riley stamp from Hanna Stamps. I bought about 7 of them (Easter, St. Patricks, in the plane, in the chair) - He is just so cute and doesn't he look comfy in his easy chair with his coffee and cupcake?! After I put this together I thought the back panels looked just like a couple of windows that Riley is sitting in front of in his den - and he is looking right at his big screen tv where we are standing!!! lol!

I used my Prismacolor markers to color him in. I like them much better than the Copic Markers. I have a few Copics - but they don't seem to color as well for me as the Prismacolor markers. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the fact that I only have 12 copics and you really need several shades of each color to do the proper blending etc. and they are very expensive... so for now I'm happy with my Prismacolors and just filling in with solid color.

I was tagged today by Danielle over on her blog - Wild Dragonfly Designs! So I have to write 7 random things about myself. I'm going to think about this overnight - so check back tomorrow to find out what I have to reveal about myself!!

Thanks so much for coming by today!
