Return to Blossoming Health

Just a quick post to share a card I made for this weeks' CAS(E) this sketch challenge and a little treat 'hat' box..
I used a strip of beautiful digital paper called Folk Art 'Clean' from Waltzingmouse along with a lacey punched strip beneath it (Martha Stewart.  This lovely get well sentiment is from Vintage Garden Seed Packet from WMS.  The card base is vintage cream and I used a Memento Nautical Blue ink.

This is a great CAS sketch -  this would be lovely as a sympathy card with the appropriate sentiment or a Happy Birthday - don't you think?!   Very versatile!

Kent and I are off to visit my friend Anne, her husband and mother who now lives with them.  I met Anne (jdmommy) through Split Coast and it turns out she only lives about 40 minutes away, so we get together now and then.  Anne recently had surgery on her thumb so we are going to have some pizza with them and to hopefully help take her mind off her hand for a few hours!

I made this little top hat treat box to bring to Anne. You may remember when I first posted some of these in green colors on this post.   Anne's favorite color is red - so I thought it would be fun to make one for her in red!  The template is called Hat's Off and it's from Creations by AR  The bow I used on the brim of the hat is also a template called It's Bow Easy

I even packaged the little treats inside the hat in a red polka dot bag!  She'll get a kick out of that I think!

Tomorrow I'll show you what I made for her mother, Evelyn!  (It's really cute!)

Some Happy News - DT Blog Hop - Creations by AR Templates

I am SO excited to let you all know that I have been invited to be on the Creations by AR Design Team -  if you are not familiar with Creations by AR -  it is a web store that sells wonderfully designed and fun Templates!  For those of you who know me -  this is RIGHT UP MY ALLEY - as I LOVE making crafty little containers, buildings, vehicles, etc, etc, etc,  and decorating them with stampings!

So today the design team is creating with two brandy new templates designed by owner Adela Rossol.  All templates include PDF, SVG and DXF files.

The first project I have to show you is using  the Scalloped Card Bag template.   It includes templates for a cute little bag and 4 cards with envelopes!  I decorated the cards and bag with some digital patterned paper from Jessica Sprague.  I made the envelopes out of a lighter weight 12 x 12 sheet of card stock  The bag measures 3 3/4" x 4"

Here's a close up of the cards - I made two of each color and pattern. The Thinking of You was stamped and punched with a Keytag punch.   The Just a Note stamp was punched with a small oval.  These little notes are 3" x 3".
Since the cards were made from darker card stock -  I added squares of white to the inside so a written note could be seen.  I used a remoistenable envelope glue on the flap of the envelope so they can be sealed!
I even put a little Hello on the back of the bag so it wouldn't look all naked back there!
And here's the front - with all 4 cards and envelopes safely tucked inside!  I tied a piece of wrinkled seam tape in 3 bows through the top handles and added some rhinestones to the sentiment for some shimmer!  A sweet little gift for a friend or neighbor don't you think?
The second template being released today is called Folder Organizer.  Adella made hers to store embossing folders in -  but I decided to make mine to hold my stash of most needed cards -  Birthday, Get Well and Thank You - so I know I have some handy and just where they are!    Here are all the pieces put together.

The template includes the base,
and the folders to put inside the base.  It includes patterns for the DP around the base of the box and the front and sides of the folders.
I cut out additional pieces to put on the inside and outside of the back of the box (as seen above and below).  I used digital Patterned Paper from Jessica Sprague. I also added a thin strip of DP on the side of the folder - easy peasy to measure and cut out - just a rectangle slightly smaller than the area covered.   I added some bling for color on the sides and on the front.

Here's the view from the back -  colorful from any angle isn't it!
and here is my Folder Organizer at work - holding some of my cards.  My cards are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" so they are shorter than my A2 envelopes -  at least 4 cards and envelopes will fit in each folder.   I used my P-Touch Label Maker for the words and a fringe die from Memory Box to make the felt flower.
Here are the links to the Design Team participating today -  remember to leave a comment at each one - there will be one winner chosen from EACH of our blogs!  You could win your choice of one of the new templates!

I will post my winner right back here on Saturday!
