Pucker Up

Happy Hump Day everyone!  Half way to the weekend - whoo hoo!!
Today I have another quick and easy Christmas card for the 'box'!
(they were so simple to do I made 4 while I had the supplies out!)
I've had this cute little 'mouse under the mistletoe' Amuse stamp for a long time - and I think this is just the 2nd time I've inked her up.
I stamped my little mouse on Vintage Cream cardstock and colored her with Copics.  I added a few red berries to the mistletoe just to give a little more color to the image!

I'm linking my card to the following challenges:
Happy Little Stampers - Sept CAS challenge - colouring
Addicted to CAS - code word LEAVES
One Layer Christmas Card Challenge - Anything goes - optional twist: Mistletoe.

Stamps:  Amuse
Paper:  Vintage Cream - PTI

Don't Stand Under the Mistletoe

Happy Saturday everyone!   I have a quick, super CAS post today!    Did you know the mistletoe berries are actually white?  Most photos show the berries red - so perhaps people mix holly with mistletoe??
And they grow in trees - using the tree to support them. (I googled Mistletoe to find all these fun facts!)
So here is my accurately presented Mistletoe card!! I absolutely love this mistletoe stamp from the Festive Foliage set by Waltzingmouse.
I simply stamped the mistletoe and this lovely sentiment from Alpine Christmas onto a piece of Vintage Cream Linen Cardstock and was done!  One more card for the Christmas card box! (and I actually made 4 of these while I was at it!)

I'm linking my card to the following challenges:
Addicted to CAS  Code Word Leaves

Stamps:  Festive Foliage, Alpine Christmas - Waltzingmouse
Paper:  Vintage Cream Linen Cardstock - PTI

Blue Note

Today I have a really CAS card that I created for four CAS challenges!  I wanted to make some teacher cards to sell at our church fair this October - so used the opportunity of these challenges to do so!
The fountain pen and sentiment are from a set called Happy Trails from PTI.  The ink splatter is from
Splat That from Waltzingmouse.
As you can see - it's a one layer card with nothing but stamped images on it.  CAS, CAS, CAS!!
And these are the challenges I'm linking to that inspired my design:
Addicted to CAS - Code Word: Blue
CAS on Sunday - Splash
Cas-ology - Cue Card - Write

 Inkspirational - One Layer Card

Stamps:  Splat That - Waltzingmouse, Happy Trails - PTI
Ink:  Enchanted Evening, True Black - PTI
Paper:  White - PTI

First Day of School

I made today's card using some of the wonderful Petite Places stamps and dies from PTI -  I am SO enthralled with the little 3D  buildings you can make with these dies - but as you see here -  you can also make them flat.  The school, flag with fence and sentiment are from Petite Places School Stamps and coordinating dies.  The tree is Scene It Everyday Die and the blue circle is Scene It Basic Backer.
I'm linking this card to:
Addicted to CAS challenge - Code Word School

My Island Dream Home

Today I have another card to share I made this past weekend (see my yesterday post below).
I haven't made a one layer card for a while - it's really hard to do, don't you think??!!  (I did add one tiny little butterfly - but we are going to pretend it just flew over my card and landed on the beach hut umbrella!)
I used the wonderful summertime set My Island from Waltzingmouse.  I inked the palm trees with 3 shades of blue - Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores and Aqua Mist (so that's Monochromatic) and I stamped the beach hut and umbrella with Harvest Gold and Orange Zest (so that's Ombre).

My CAS card design was inspired by 4 challenges:
Less is More - One Layer - theme HOME (I wish this beach hut WAS my home!)
Virginia's View Challenge - Monochromatic/Ombre (I did BOTH!)
Addicted to CAS - Code word Butterfly
Stamps:  My Island - Waltzingmouse
Paper:  White, Tropical Teal - PTI
Ink:  Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, Orange Zest, Smokey Shadow - PTI
Accessories:  butterfly punch - Martha Stewart

Eggs and Bunnies for Easter

Did you see the fantastic post Tim Holtz did on Alcohol Inks and little plastic Easter eggs?  You'll find his video tutorial here.
He used white eggs that he found in a craft store this year -  but I had a bunch of pastel ones already (and I couldn't find white ones!)so I used them.  I think with the white eggs the color of the alcohol inks is more true.  I used pastel blue, pink, purple, and yellow eggs and I actually did find one white one in my bag (don't know where it came from!?!)
The second one in from the left, front row above - is the white egg - the rest were colored.
I used several colors of Alcohol Inks for my eggs - Stream, Butterscotch, Cranberry and Lettuce along with Gold Mixative. I applied the inks with a Blending tool and Felt pads.
I'm linking this egg in the middle to the Colour Q challenge  I used Cranberry, Butterscotch, Lettuce and Stream -  similar colors to those listed for the challenge!  I actually used these same colors on all the eggs but they look different depending on the color of the egg itself!

I love how they come out -  so much prettier than dipping real eggs in dye aren't they?!
In case you are wondering - I got the little pink egg box at Bath and Body last year -  I think they were packaging for their plug-in air fresheners - but you could buy the box separately.  I thought it was cute and bought one - but this is the first time I've used it in a year (!)
I also have a couple of Bunny cards to share that I made to send my Grand Nephews and Nieces.  The vintage images are Clip Art from The Vintage Workshop.  I bought them on a disk years ago - and the site has now changed - they sell individual images and some are free  - I don't see the white bunny there.
I printed the bunnies, cut them out along with a plain white backing and adhered the pieces together at the top just below the ears.  I scored the back piece just below where I had adhered them together so they would stand up. I added blue rhinestones to the white bunny and a pink wrinkled seam tape bow to the white and black bunny.
I'm linking my bunnies to the Curtain Call Challenge - Beginnings
also to the CASology - Cue Card Spring
Addicted to Cas - Code word Cute

Wishing everyone who celebrates a  most Blessed Easter on Sunday!

Happy Anniversary

I realized I needed some anniversary cards for my stash of cards that I sell to friends at work - so today I made a CAS one.
I used a super fun stick figure set from Lil' Inker Designs called It's Today, Right?  I stamped the couple on a white square, colored in just the flower and hem of the dress with Copics and layered it to a Tropical Teal square set on an angle.  The Happy Anniversary is a Hero Arts wooden stamp.  Inside I stamped "to the best couple ever" from the same Lil' Inker Set.

My sketch is the latest Cas(e) this Sketch.

I can't believe the weekend has passed and I'm back to work already!  Days off go by so quickly don't they?!!

Stamps:   It's Today, Right? - Lil Inker Designs, Happy Anniversary - Hero Arts
Paper:  White, Tropical Teal - PTI
Ink:  Archival Jet Black
Accessories:  Copics - BG18, Y17, foam dots.

Party at the Nest

Isn't this a fun sentiment to pair with these bandit birds?
The birds actually are for Halloween - the wood mounted stamp from Inkadinkadoo has "Happy Halloween" under the birds - but I just inked up the birdies for this card.  The sentiment is also Inkadinkadoo - from a clear set called Bird Assortment (gifted to me by my friend, Anne,  when she was cleaning up her stamp room  - thanks Anne!). Inside I stamped "Happy Birthday You Old Bird" (!)

I made this card for the  Addicted to Cas challenge - Code Word MASK
and Seize the Birthday - I'm going with the Anything Goes option.

Stamps:  Inkadinkadoo
Paper:  White - PTI
Ink:  Wendy Vecchi Archival Cornflower Blue, Archival Jet Black

Addicted to CAS - Guest DT for Hugs and Kisses

Hello again Addicted to CAS fans!   I'm back as Guest Designer for Deepti's challenge - Code Word Hugs and Kisses - just in time for our Valentine's Creations (or maybe you have a different idea - like for a wedding or anniversary OR birthday creation??!)
I recently purchased Tim Holtz' Stacked Words/Valentines die so it was fresh in my mind - and proved to be perfect for this challenge! I die cut the words in black and red, layered them over the white panel, popping one over the other with foam tape.
And there you go -  clean and simple - n'est-ce pas??

I have had such fun being the Guest Designer for January -  thanks so much to the ATCAS team for inviting me to join in this month!   What does 'Hugs and Kisses' inspire you to create?  Can't wait to see what you link up over at the ATCAS blog!

Paper:  White, True Black, Pure Poppy - PTI
Accessories:  Stacked Words/Valentines die - Alterations/Tim Holtz, foam tape.

Addicted to CAS - Guest Designer for January!

I'm so excited to reveal today that I have been invited to be the Guest Designer for January over at the Addicted to CAS challenge!
Today's challenge is hosted by Jaydee - and her code word is WORLD
I had lots of ideas swirling around my head for this code word - maybe use a piece of a map (I saved a whole bag of maps from my Dad's old National Geographics to use SOMEDAY on cards!) or maybe do something with a globe die I have??  Then I remembered a stamp set I bought forever ago called City Scene from PTI and inspiration hit! (I also bought the coordinating dies for the set, of course!)
We've got Big Ben in London, The Chrysler Building in New York City and the Eiffel Tower in Paris - so this represents many parts of the WORLD -  there's also the cute little NYC taxi cab to drive you around the WORLD and the fun passport sentiment (a little wood mounted stamp from Uptown Design that I've had for ages, I think they are out of business).

Big Ben and the Chrysler building each have two stamps in the set (outline and background) so it's easy peasy to stamp them in two colors and having the dies means you get them cut out with one little roll of the die cutting machine!  I layered all the buildings on one side to leave lots of white space on my CAS creation.

So - how do you see the "WORLD"???  I hope you'll link up your creations over at Addicted to CAS!  and I'll see you again as Guest DT for the January 31st challenge!

Stamps:  City Scene - PTI,  sentiment from Uptown Design Co.
Paper:  White - PTI
Ink:  Momento Tuxedo Black, Peanut Butter and Olive Grove.
Accessories:  City Scene Die Collection - PTI, foam tape.
